JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC is designed to add volume beneath the skin’s surface to lift and contour the cheek area.

Juvéderm Voluma® XC is the first and only hyaluronic acid based dermal filler approved by the FDA to instantly increase the volume of the mid-face/cheek area. It provides a subtle, natural enhancement to the mid-face that lasts up to 2 years.

How does it work?

Voluma® is part of the Juvéderm family of products. Voluma® consists of hyaluronic acid (HA) which is a substance found naturally within the skin. Voluma® is injected deep beneath the skin, to offer greater support and structure to the overlying skin. Injecting Voluma® into these deep layers can create a noticeably smoother appearance to the skin; provide lift and more substantial definition to the facial structure. It can be used to correct many common signs of aging including:

• Restoring volume to cheeks

• Smoothing moderate lines around the eyes

• Smoothing wrinkles around the nose and mouth

Voluma® has very low hydrophilic properties, meaning it has a low rate of water absorption. Voluma®’s low water absorbing properties are a critical feature to its success because the gel will not expand after injection, allowing for controlled, precise results.

The effects of Voluma® typically last for approximately 9 months to a year from the date of treatment with some patients even enjoying and experiencing the effects for up to 2 years with optimum correction.

The most common side effects are mild and include symptoms commonly found in the recovery process of minor surgery such as irritation, swelling or redness at the injection site. This procedure is reversible, if so desired, simply with the injection of a dissolving enzyme.
